This untreated Sri Lankan sapphire holds its color in distinct, shifting territories: saturated cornflower-to-royal blue meeting nearly colorless crystal. As the stone moves, those zones overlap through the facets, sometimes appearing sharply divided and at other angles dissolving into icy periwinkle and pale blue. Natural inclusions remain visible within the crystal, adding another layer to its distinctly individual character.
The custom geometric shield was designed to work with the sapphire’s natural parti-color rather than disguise it. An angular outline and broad, directional facets frame the blue and colorless zoning almost like panes of glass, while the substantial 5.85 mm depth creates striking internal reflections. Viewed from the side, its sculptural profile becomes especially apparent—a gemstone that feels architectural from every angle.
