Soft orchid pink and lavender-purple form the translucent body of this unusual Afghan sapphire. Across its surface, dark mineral inclusions radiate from a concentrated center, creating a striking six-rayed pattern reminiscent of a pressed botanical specimen.
In diffused light, the inclusions appear almost black against the violet crystal. Under stronger illumination, delicate bronze and silvery reflections emerge within the dark areas, revealing an intricate network of natural textures. The contrast gives the stone a distinctly organic presence, with each ray retaining its own irregular character.
The hexagonal portrait cut was chosen to celebrate the sapphire's internal structure rather than conceal it. Its broad, nearly uninterrupted face allows the radiating inclusions to remain the central feature, while the six-sided outline echoes their natural arrangement.
At just 2.90 mm deep, the stone presents an expansive 12.90 × 11.90 mm face-up silhouette. The restrained faceting and transparent edges frame the inclusion pattern like a miniature work of art.
An exceptional candidate for a bespoke pendant, statement ring, or collector's piece where the sapphire's unusual internal architecture can remain fully visible.
