Frequently Asked Questions
Real answers. No fluff. No suitspeak.
Ah, the buzzword of the decade. “Ethically Sourced” has been tossed around like “healthy” was on every ‘90s snack pack. But just like Diet Cola wasn’t exactly health food, not every "ethical" claim holds water.
Here’s what it means to us: Our stones are sourced from mine owners and operators who engage in safe, humane, and fair practices. That means no conflict zones, no exploitation and no shady supply chains.
We believe ethics SHOULD NOT stop at sourcing—they should also be translated in to pricing, partnerships and how we operate as humans; so with us, that is exactly what we do, ethical is not a loosely tossed term in our neck of the woods, it is a company lifestyle. We’ve been using the term before it was cool and we’ll keep using it, not as a trend but as a core value.
First off—thank you! We hear this a lot, and we take it as a compliment.
Let’s unpack some common terms:
- “Cheap” usually means low quality. That’s not us.
- “Low” is relative. Lower than big-box retailers? Almost always.
- “Competitive” implies we’re playing games. We’re not. We’re just doing us.
Our pricing is not based on what someone else charges. It’s based on what it actually costs to bring you the stone, plus a margin that keeps the lights on. That’s why we say: Ethics don’t stop at sourcing. We apply the same transparency to our pricing as we do to our sourcing.
The real question is: Why is everyone else so expensive?
We’re based in sunny Los Angeles County, California. That’s where we run operations, answer your messages, jam out to great tunes and drink too much coffee.

Yes! While we’re primarily a b2b/wholesale supplier for designers and jewelers, we are also consumer facing, bringing transparency and education to the public, one pretty gemstone at a time!
Designers with a registered business get additional trade pricing, make sure to register. That’s not gatekeeping—it’s just how we support our long-term trade partners.
We’re all about community, not competition.
Great question!
We offer virtual memos—that means high-quality, downloadable photos and videos you can share directly with your clients.
Because we operate with rapid turnover and demand often exceeds supply, this is our standard and most efficient process. It allows us to remain fair and consistent with all of our clients.

We focus on what we’re best at—sourcing and supplying the rarest, most unique stones on Earth.

Typically, no—and here’s why:
Not only do we know exactly what our inventory is and where it comes from but the report process takes an average of 4–8 weeks and costs $150–$700 per stone. That slows down our inventory and jacks up the price for you. It just doesn’t vibe with our high-turnover, ethical, transparent model.
BUT—if you want a report to accompany your stone (if it does not already have one) we’ve got you. We completely respect and appreciate that having a renowned third party corroborate what you’re buying just feels good. We can send your stone directly to the lab on your behalf, ensuring quick, secure transport both ways with no guess work. we will facilitate for you and create a custom invoice for the associated costs.
We can also provide an in-house dossier detailing specs and retail estimates. Think of it like a stone’s passport, issued by us.
Some of our stones will already have reports from reputable gem labs.
