In Natural Light 

An exceptionally vivid parti sapphire from Diego, Madagascar, dominated by an electric ocean blue with subtle natural shifts of yellow woven through the crystal.

Its saturation is immediately commanding. Intense cobalt and tropical blue move across the stone as the light changes, while the parti character introduces warmer undertones that keep the color from appearing uniform or static. The result is a sapphire with remarkable depth — at once crisp, saturated, and distinctly individual.

Completely untreated, allowing the natural color architecture of the Madagascar crystal to remain intact.

The Lapidary’s Eye

This crystal called for precision and restraint.

The emerald cut was chosen to organize its strong natural color into broad, deliberate planes rather than fragmenting it into conventional brilliance. Long step facets draw the eye inward, creating alternating bands of bright electric blue and deeper cobalt while allowing the stone’s subtler parti zoning to emerge through movement.

The unusually generous 4.59 mm depth was used purposefully to retain saturation and build a strong internal hall-of-mirrors effect. Crisp clipped corners frame the composition, while the geometric pavilion returns concentrated flashes through the center and lower portion of the stone.

It is a cut that doesn’t compete with the sapphire’s color — it gives that color architecture.
