Specifications:
A sapphire with two distinct personalities, in harmony
In cooler and natural light, the stone settles into an elegant silver-grey with subtle blue undertones. Under warmer illumination, that restraint gives way to steely violet and muted lavender; a transformation that feels perfectly moody and atmospheric.
Its custom antique style transitional cut was chosen to complement that shifting color. Broad facets and old world proportions create larger, lively flashes of light that results in feeling both historic and distinctly contemporary.
Untreated and originating from Sakaraha, Madagascar, the sapphire’s unusual color behavior belongs entirely to the natural crystal.
The Lapidary’s Eye
There is something beautifully contradictory about this stone: an antique cutting language expressed through an uncommon, almost metallic palette.
Its precision faceting gives structure to the color change without making the stone feel overly polished or predictable. Silver, steel, violet and lavender appear and disappear as the environment changes.
One stone, somewhere between stormlight and twilight.
